Mt. Washington Bike Park

Mount Washington is located on Vancouver Island near the town of Comox. Their bike park had just opened the previous weekend and some of the runs were were very wet. However I managed to find a few that were dry and in good shape. There was lots of snow around, which made for a nice cool day given that it was very hot down in the valley.

Favorite trails were Hustler, MMT and MHC. Hustler has a breathtaking drop with a perfect runout.

Up Whistler, across to Blackcomb on the Peak-To-Peak gondola, then down Blackcomb.

Wild Willy's Ride

Every Monday night a local bike shop named Wild Willy's organizes a group ride. It is always well attended, usually having 30 or so people, broken into 4 groups based on ability. Entry fee of $2 gets you a beer afterwards.

Pemberton is 30km North of Whistler. It is famous for MTB trails but they are a bit more wild and untamed. The views are spectacular, though.

Time: 4 hours
